Participation in an International Autumn School

Climate Policy and Energy System Transformation: New Opportunities and Challenges of the Consideration of Co-Benefits

On the week of 13th -17th of September 2021, our ESR 3 Deepali Singh and ESR 10 Omar Ibrahim had the opportunity to participate in-person for the first time in the International Autumn School “Climate Policy and Energy System Transformation: New Opportunities and Challenges of the Consideration of Co-Benefits” hosted at TU Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany. The School addressed and presented state-of-the-art concepts and methods to capture effects of low-carbon policies in order to improve the scope for well-informed decision-making of policymakers. The school also sensitized the participants for the complexity faced by policymakers and researchers concerned with climate policy. Furthermore, over the five days, the school aimed to provide such skills and knowledge to students, which are required for the sophisticated task of including different effects with different features in the analysis of climate policy.
