Established in 1845, NUI Galway is the leading higher education and research organisation in the West of Ireland. It has invested over e0.4billion in its research and teaching infrastructures over the past 10 years. Currently involved in 130 H2020 projects, securing in excess of e60 million in direct funding and coordinating 7 ITNs. MaREI at NUI Galway was established as part of the National MaREI Centre and contributes to some of the most important long-term, environmental, marine and energy research issues.
